Meet Luna — the gentle soul who refuses to let her past define her 

Luna, our lovable Staffordshire Terrier mix, was rescued just in time from Contra Costa Animal Services after being heartbreakingly placed on the euthanasia list. What she’s been through hasn’t dimmed her light — if anything, it’s made her even more loving.

This sweet girl carries a few small bumps on her head from past mistreatment, but they don’t slow her down one bit. Luna is incredibly affectionate, people-focused, and thrives on love and attention. She’s the kind of dog who will quietly lean into you, soak up every bit of affection, and remind you what unconditional love really looks like.

MEET  Onyx 

Once just a number on a euthanasia list, Onyx was waiting on a cold shelter floor at Contra Costa Animal Services—unsure if anyone would come for him. It’s hard to understand how a dog this gentle, this loving, could have come so close to losing his life simply because he was overlooked. Life hasn’t been kind to Onyx. He didn’t deserve to be abandoned, and he certainly didn’t deserve to feel invisible. And yet… his spirit never broke. Onyx is about 4 years old and weighs around 45 lbs. We believe he may be a Flat-Coated Retriever or Newfoundland mix—whatever his breed, he is absolutely stunning, both inside and out. He’s vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Despite everything, Onyx still loves people. He still trusts. He still leans in for affection and just wants to be close to someone who makes him feel safe. He can do well with other dogs when introduced properly, but more than anything, he’s craving a person to call his own.

What Onyx wants is simple, but powerful:
A home.
A soft place to rest.
A human who won’t give up on him.

She needs a patient, compassionate person who will give her the time and understanding she deserves—someone willing to help her rebuild her trust and show her that not all humans will hurt her. This sweet girl is about 3 years old, a Lab/Staffordshire Terrier mix, and weighs just 28 lbs—making her the perfect medium-sized companion. Meet beautiful Pearl, our sweet Staffordshire Terrier mix rescued from the euthanasia list at Lancaster Animal Care Center. Pearl is around 3 years old and weighs approximately 66 lbs. She is vaccinated, microchipped, and will soon be spayed and ready for her forever home. We believe Pearl was sadly used for backyard breeding and then abandoned at the shelter after having puppies. She found herself scared, stressed, and alone on a cold shelter floor, missing her babies. We couldn’t leave her behind. Despite everything she’s been through, Pearl is incredibly loving and resilient. She knows basic commands, walks well on a leash, is crate trained, and gets along well with people and other dogs. Pearl deserves a family who will love her unconditionally and give her the safe, happy life she has always deserved. Meet Rocky, our Contra Costa Animal Services survivor.  Rocky was rescued just minutes before being euthanized after arriving at the shelter as a stray. The shelter environment was confusing, scary, and stressful for him—but even through it all, Rocky showed nothing but kindness. He remained friendly with staff and other dogs and quickly became everyone’s favorite. Rocky is a 3.5-year-old Bull Terrier mix, weighing about 50 lbs. He is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Rocky is great with people and other dogs and absolutely loves to play with his canine friends. He is house trained, great with kids, handles very well on the leash. He is so eager to learn and please. He’s a happy, loving boy who is ready to leave his past behind and start a new chapter.
